CLEANING
- Wash before using for the first time; dishwasher-safe.

- Do not use abrasive cleaner.
- Aerosol nonstick spray is not recommended; it will create a sticky residue which is difficult to clean.
- To deep clean silicone lid:
- To remove stubborn food odors, use a baking soda paste. Mix ½ cup (125 mL) baking soda with 3 tablespoons (45 mL) water. Apply paste to cover and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse and towel dry immediately.
- Silicone can discolor from foods like tomato-based sauces or turmeric-based foods. To minimize discoloration, soak in a solution of bleach and water. Refer to the bleach bottle label for details.

MICROWAVE PASTA COOKING GUIDE
- For best results, follow the directions provided.
- This guide is based on using 1 serving (2 oz.) or 2 servings (4 oz.) of dry pasta, cooked al dente, in a 1,200-watt microwave.
- Microwaves can vary. Adjust cooking time to work with your microwave.
- Because of variations in microwaves, your pasta may be undercooked, and water may remain in the bottom of the base after the recommended cook time.
DIRECTIONS
- MEASURE out the recommended amount of dry pasta and pour into the base. Note: Pasta is measured by weight.
- POUR the recommended amount of water, based on the chart below, over the pasta. Stir briefly.
- PLACE the silicone lid on top of the base; press down until the lid is flush over the base.
- MICROWAVE for the recommended cook time according to the chart below. Timing based on a 1,200-watt microwave for al dente pasta. Note: Foam will appear on top of the lid while cooking.

ADDITIONAL PASTA MAKING TIPS
- For plain pasta, you can add a teaspoon of olive oil or butter to the water before cooking to prevent sticking.
- When cooking long pasta like spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine, it’s best to break the pasta in half and place it in an “X” shape to minimize sticking.
- If you prefer your pasta softer than al dente, add 2 oz. of water and 2 minutes to the cook time.
- Some shapes/sizes of pasta will not be covered by the recommended amount of water, and this may cause pasta to brown, or overcook. To prevent this, add enough water to fully submerge all pasta. Do not fill the Microwave Pasta Maker more than ¾ full. Drain additional water after cooking.
- Some shapes/sizes of pasta may stick during cooking. This can usually be broken up with some light stirring or by adding sauce to your pasta.
SAFEGUARDS
- Always wait 1 minute before removing the Microwave Pasta Maker from the microwave.
- Always use oven mitts or hot pads to remove the Microwave Pasta Maker from the microwave. Hold the Microwave Pasta Maker from the base, NEVER the lid, as the lid becomes slippery during heating.
