USE AND CARE
1. Make sure your surface or countertop is completely clean and dry.
2. Press the feet (I) firmly into the base (H).
3. Attach the body (E) to the base (H) and press down firmly.
4. Choose the blade you want to use:- Fine grater: Use it for chocolate and hard cheese (like Parmesan)
- Coarse grater: Use it for cheese (like cheddar), vegetables (like cauliflower), and fruit (like apples)
- Slicer: Use it to slice fruits (like apples) and vegetables (like cucumbers)
- Note: Do not use with ice.
5. Use a towel to hold the blade. Align the blade with the end of the handle inside the body of the grater. Secure the blade by rotating the handle clockwise. Do not overtighten the blade. See illustration.
6. Place the clear shield firmly onto the body so the shield is secure. Place the container or a bowl under the food chute.
7. Put your food into the hopper.- Start by pushing long food like carrots and celery into the grater by hand. Or, cut long foods in half for better leverage. When the food gets shorter or sits inside the food hopper, use the food pusher. Never put your hands or fingers inside the food hopper. Always use the food pusher in the food hopper.
- For smaller foods, insert the food pusher into the food hopper, then use the food pusher insert to guide food into the blades. Rest the food against the angled side of the food pusher.
8. Grate by turning the handle clockwise.
9. When you’re done grating, use a towel to protect your hand as you remove the blade. Rotate the handle counterclockwise to remove.TIPS
To reduce food waste:
- To reduce food waste with hard foods like carrots, grate them quickly.
- Apply light pressure to food while grating or slicing.
- Adjust the angle of your food if you notice a lot of food waste. For example, carrots grate better when placed straight up and down. Cheese grates better when you rest it against the angled side of the food pusher.
- If you have a large amount of food waste, put it back into the hopper and grate it again.
- It’s easier to grate cold foods like cheese and even vegetables. If your cheese is soft, freeze it for about 15 minutes before grating.
- To make sure food grates evenly, turn it around halfway through grating.
Other helpful tips:
- Use the food pusher and food pusher insert together to push larger foods into the blade.
- The food pusher is larger at top than on the bottom. To prevent food from getting stuck in the food pusher, use the bottom of the pusher as a guide to help to cut food to size.
- Make sure the food pusher and food pusher insert are aligned. Do not force the pieces together.
STORAGE
- The blades, shield, food pusher, and handle fit inside the storage container.
- Separate the body and base for compact storage.
GUARANTEE
- Three-year guarantee for noncommercial use. Refer to website or sales receipt for details.
