CLEANING

CLEANING

- • Hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to preserve the original appearance and enamel finish. Always cool a hot pan before cleaning. Thoroughly towel dry immediately. If preferred, cookware may be dishwashed.
- • Dishwashing can dull the enameled finish over time. If the enamel finish dulls, this is not harmful and will not impair performance.
- • For stuck-on foods, soak in soapy water and use a nylon scraper to remove any residue. Do not plunge a hot pan into cold water. Thermal shock may still occur, resulting in cracking or loss of enamel.
- • Light stains or marks can be minimized by using an enamel cast iron cookware cleaner. Follow the cleaner’s instructions.
- • To avoid damaging the enamel, do not use metallic pads or harsh abrasive cleaning agents.
- • Never store pans while they are still damp. Store pans in a dry cupboard or airy space away from steam.
- • To remove tough stains use a little warm vinegar.
- • If the exposed cast iron rim has rust, lightly scour the affected area with steel wool, rinse, dry, and rub with vegetable oil.

- • High Heat: Only use for boiling liquids.
- • Do not slide, spin, or drag the pan over the surface of your stovetop, especially glass top ranges, as scratches may result on the cooking surface, and are not covered by the product guarantee.
- • Preheat with oil, butter, or water. Use a small amount and evenly coat the inside surface each time you cook. Never heat your cookware empty or dry as this can results in property damage or injury. Avoid using extra virgin olive oil over high heat as it will burn and leave a thin carbonized layer on the surface.
- • Do not use nonstick cooking sprays as it can damage the coating and be difficult to remove.
